How many grandmothers would
prefer to be called "Granny"?
That sums up my grandmother's personality; she found fun in everything in life.
She died peacefully in Aurora IL on April 27, 2001. I will never forget her
laugh and how she destroyed anyone who dared challenge her in cards. I know that,
somewhere, you are cleaning up in a game of "Oh Hell".
I'll miss you Granny.
Granny had her 90th birthday in
June of 2000. My mother held a surprise party for her in Aurora. It was a very
special day for Granny and these pictures capture her excitement and the love that all
generations had for her. All the way to her great grand children Alyssa and the
youngest of all Trevor.
What is it?
That's what Granny called this thing. In perhaps the prime example
of her sense of humor, she found this melted...er..object in the rubble of the cottage
fire back around 1970. She was so intrigued at trying to figure out what it was that
it became an end table conversation piece for the next 30 years. What the heck is
it?
This picture, taken four
months before her death, shows four generations of women: Granny, Mom, Terri and
Sarah.
